A search for family...
My grandfather Charles Brown was born in 1875, grew up in an English workhouse, became a baker, married, had seven children, and died in 1969. Not a very momentous life ~ but one as remarkable in its own way as many more well-known ones.
His story is about deprivation, hardship, loss ... and triumph over all of those.
Mine is about determination, endurance, perseverance ... and success.
The book is both of those stories.
